Giant road sign for the Oosterweel link
Produced by Verfaillie-Leroy
Verfaillie-Leroy's top team, led by business unit manager Joost Breyne, produced a giant sign for the Oosterweel link.
The view from city of Antwerp will change dramatically in the coming years due to the Oosterweel link. The Antwerp ring road becomes circular and the existing Ring largely disappears underground.
An ant large
For this project, Joost and his department made a sign as large as 13 by 4 metres. "It is not obvious to make such a large sign, but we are immensely proud of the result. This is craftsmanship of the highest order. When you lie down on a board like this, you look just an ant tall.", Joost says with a laugh.
Transport
Besides producing this 'giant', Verfaillie-Leroy is also responsible for transporting the road signs itself. That this giant sign cannot be transported in one piece is obvious. "The road sign is so big that we had to make it in several parts and transport them separately to Antwerp. There we then attached them together."
