APK Wegenbouw Yellow collaborates on the new residential area called Tamer Park in Herk-de-Stad. Commissioned by property developer Promabo do the teams provide the entire site with sewerage. 

About the project

In the residential expansion area between the N2 Hasselt-Diest and the Diestsesteenweg, the new residential district Tamerpark will be built, a subdivision of 65 houses and 68 flats with underground parking. The eight streets and four roads for walkers and cyclists will be given musical street names that are refer to well-known Dutch-language songs:

A tight schedule

• Early September 2022: subcontractor starts deforestation followed by archaeological survey
• December: teams start excavating site roads
• Early January 2023: first sewer crew starts preparatory works
• 24 January: first sewer crew starts laying the dry weather drainage (DWA)
• Early February: second sewer crew starts laying the storm drain (RWA)

Smart cranes with GPS systems

Using smart cranes from Kobelco with a GPS system, activity operators can mobility:

• Putting out drains and sewers
• Measuring installed wells
• Measuring house connections
• Excavating roads
• Apply crushed stone at correct height
  

Challenges

? Taking into account the existing row of beech trees to be preserved
☀️ For this reason, the trees were wrapped against the sunburn
? And sheet piles were installed so that during the lowering of groundwater the trees will not run out of water
