District heating, a forward-looking and more sustainable heating system
What is district heating?
District heating or 'district heating' is the concept of one large central heat source instead of many individual heating systems.
We create heat in one central location and then transport it via a underground network of insulated pipes, a 'heat network', to individual buildings.
Why district heating?
- In the climate agreement, heat networks are one of the key alternatives to natural gas.
- The biggest advantage of this system is that we sustainable heat a useful destination can give.

We build the heat networks, the insulated pipes that transport the heat.

Technical info: A heat network consists of several single pipe tubes connected together. These pipes consist of polyurethane (PUR) insulation and HDPE. Heat networks always comply with the applicable standards (including: NEN 3650, NBN EN 253+A1, NBN EN 448:2015, NBN EN 488, NBN EN 10217-3, PED 97/23/EC).
