The core values of APK Group
APK'ers Pieter, Gert, Brent, Demet and Ivo tell you what value they find so important and why they make this choice. Do you read along?
Pieter, active in our finance department since the end of May, emphasises the value 'cooperation'. For him, this is not just a word, but an essential principle that unites us. In the short time he has been part of APK Group, two team activities have already taken place to strengthen group dynamics and cooperation. "Under the pressure of tight deadlines, a culture of cooperation is fostered, where goals are jointly pursued so that all deadlines can be met. We are never alone, as colleagues are always ready to support each other and share their knowledge. The whole team is encouraged to contribute to optimising processes, so that together we achieve the most effective results!"

Gert, project manager in the security department, began his APK adventure on 3 July. When thinking about our core values, his choice fell without a doubt on the value 'respect'. For him, this is not just a concept, it is an essential value between colleagues but also from the shop floor to managers and vice versa. "To give respect is to get respect! Not only within our organisation, but also in how we deal with contractors and customers. For me, respect is the basis for a good working atmosphere and strong collaborations!"
Brent started as site manager FttH in mid-March. When we asked him what value of APK Group he considers important, he replied flatly 'safety'! "In my previous job, I was on site myself as a labourer, and I saw quite a lot there. So as a site manager, I find it crucial that safety is guaranteed and respected so that the whole team can return home safely to their families and friends after each working day."
Demet, who has been working as a project administration assistant since February, finds the value results-oriented then again, crucially important. "I deal with permit applications and drawing signage plans on a daily basis. My preparatory work has a lot of influence on the subsequent work of the client and implementation managers. For this reason, I do not give 100, but 200% and focus on my end result every time to provide the smoothest possible flow to my other colleagues."
Ivo, tender engineer since the beginning of August, tells us that within his job, all values are important. "But if I have to assign a weighting coefficient, its cooperation and customer satisfaction surely the most important one of all." He currently manages an extensive hydrogen project in Ghent where he is in constant close cooperation with customers and (inter)national suppliers across Europe. "The joint pursuit of excellent results in such projects is made possible by close cooperation, combining the strengths of various parties to achieve a common goal: to obtain optimum customer satisfaction."
