JR Infra and Rasenberg to strengthen energy grid in northern and central Netherlands

22 August 2025
Rasenberg Kabels & Leidingen and JR Infra will be responsible for installing, connecting and converting medium-voltage substations for Alliander in the provinces of Gelderland, North Holland and Flevoland. This will further expand the working area of Rasenberg, which is part of the APK Group construction company.

The work involves the construction, replacement and expansion of medium-voltage substations. These substations are essential switching points in the electricity grid where the voltage from high-voltage lines is reduced to a level that can be safely used by households and businesses. Due to the pressure on the energy grid more and more of these stations are needed.

The award of this contract therefore represents an important step forward in the energy transition and the development of a sustainable and stable energy supply in Gelderland, Flevoland and North Holland. Work will commence after the 2025 construction industry holiday period. The contract has a term of six years, with the option to extend the framework agreement twice by one year.
