Why do they choose APK Group?

As a growing family business, APK Group continues to expand with new construction talent, and we like to celebrate it! To give our brand-new subcontractors and colleagues's a warm welcome, we regularly organise fun onboarding days, where they can get to know each other and exchange experiences. This time we took a look at the onboarding day in Best in the Netherlands, with one pressing question in mind: why did you choose APK Group? Vedat, Bilal and Roderick from Energie & Water in Harmelen speak to us.

Vedat: "It felt right away, both in terms of opportunities and atmosphere"

Vedat and Bilal are two of over 40 people working for us who we meet on onboarding day in Best. They are two friends with one goal: to grow together.

"I joined APK Group because I see growth opportunities here and can develop further," Vedat interjects. "I started in the gas and electricity sector as a fitter, but I was keen to progress to a job as a work planner. APK Group offered me that opportunity, and I grabbed it with both hands." Although Vedat has even bigger future plans: "I definitely want to continue growing here, as I dream of eventually becoming a project manager."

But it is not just the advancement opportunities that attracted Vedat to APK Group. "The friendly working atmosphere here also really appeals to me. Everything felt right here right away, both in terms of opportunities and atmosphere."

Bilal: "It's a big company, yet it feels familiar here"

Bilal also recognises himself in that statement. "At my previous employer, I felt stuck in my position as a high-voltage mechanic", he says. "But at APK Group, I see more opportunities to expand my expertise and take on more responsibilities. Hopefully, that way I can grow into an executive role, and who knows, maybe even become a project manager."

"Because of my job, I also have a lot of contact with other departments," Bilal continues. "That creates an informal atmosphere and a sense of belonging. That's also what I like about APK Group: it's a big company, yet it feels familiar here. And that gives me a lot of satisfaction in my work."

 

Roderick: "APK Group has an atmosphere of tackle, but we do it together"

Finally, we speak to Roderick, who recently joined Engineering as a project coordinator. Before joining APK Group, he worked at client Vitens. "As a result, I already had good contact with a manager at APK Group, who assured me that this would be a good choice. I also like the relaxed atmosphere at APK Group. There is a mentality of getting things done, but we do it together."

Roderick only sees his move from client Vitens to contractor APK Group as an advantage: "Because of my experience, I know very well what expectations a contractor has to meet. I can make good use of that knowledge to anticipate them."
