APK Group acquires AGBb BV

3 June 2026
APK Group acquires AGBb, a road construction company from the Kempen region, part of B&R Bouwgroep. With this strategic acquisition, APK Group's road construction activities grow by approximately 15%. The group also welcomes around 30 technically skilled employees. AGBb achieves an annual turnover of approximately €8 million and remains a separate entity within APK Group, in close collaboration with the other road construction entities. AGBb will also continue to collaborate with B&R Bouwgroep in the future.
AGBb and APK Group have a similar business profile in road construction and infrastructure works, but differ in their market approach. APK Group is firmly established in public works (B2G). AGBb focuses primarily on B2B projects, often in collaboration with major project developers and construction companies, such as B&R; Bouwgroep. They build residential construction projects for contractors, developers and public authorities.

Geographically, too, the two companies complement each other. The headquarters of the road construction division is based in Geel, with branches in Pelt, Bilzen, Leopoldsburg and Langemark. AGBb operates primarily in the wider Antwerp region. As a result, APK Group’s road construction division is further expanding its operations in that region, in addition to its existing presence in the country’s other provinces.

Gerry Peeters, Operations Director at APK Group, responsible for road construction: ‘We are extremely pleased with this acquisition. AGBb brings not only additional expertise, B2B clients and projects, but also around 30 experienced staff members, all of whom we need to achieve our ambitious growth targets. In a market where technical talent is scarce, this represents clear added value. The road construction division is aiming for an annual growth rate of 20%.’

AGBb returns to a company with road construction as its core business.

The acquisition strengthens APK Group’s road construction division in several ways. Its operational area is being expanded across the wider Antwerp region, the order book is growing, and the team is being bolstered by around 30 new staff members. The acquisition will increase the road construction division’s turnover to €60 million.

Herman Vaessens, Business Unit Manager of the AGBb entity: ‘’At the road construction division of APK Group, we’ve found ourselves in a company where roadworks are at the heart of its business. We’re now exactly where we belong, and we’re being given the space to grow further.’

B&R Bouwgroep looks back with appreciation on the period when AGBb was part of B&R Bouwgroep. Jan In ’t Ven, HR Manager B&R Bouwgroep: ‘AGBb has made excellent progress within B&R; Bouwgroep. We look back on this with gratitude. We wish them every success in this new chapter at APK Group, and we look forward to continuing to work with them.

AGBb remains a separate entity, based in Arendonk

AGBb was already operating within a group structure with shared services at B&R; Bouwgroep. APK Group operates on the same principle. AGBb will form a separate entity and make use of the support services provided by APK Group.

With this acquisition, APK Group reaffirms its ambition to achieve sustainable growth in terms of staff, projects and geographical presence.
