Wiring up against the times: Q Beach House

In the last week of June, we worked very hard to get the Q Beach House ready for the grand opening. The last stages of the build-up included the cabling of the entire complex. For this, Q Music relied - not for the first time - on the telecom men of APK Group. We were invited to take a look and found a small but punishing team of 3 APK'ers, hard at work to meet the tight deadlines.

More than 1 kilometre of cable

It was a real race against the clock. The Q Beach House would open on 2 July and the team was not allowed to start its part of the works until 23 June.

Head coach Frederic De Borger, a technical expert with 15 years of experience at APK Group, told us that more than a kilometre of cable was being pulled for this project. This was no easy task due to the special environment on the beach and on the dike.

Martijn, a technician for 6 years, explained to us how they installed 12 access points and provided the entire complex with super fast internet from Orange.

It was a special project for this team, extra challenging, but also extra impressive because of its unique location on Ostend beach.
