The power grids of the future

19 April 2024
A company specialising in realising challenging infrastructure projects, Fluvius will be commissioned to strengthen its electricity network over the next few years. The project is part of the energy transition, in which we will strengthen and modernise the existing network as part of the shift to sustainable energy. Thus, we will give more space to solar panels, electric vehicles, heat pumps and many other green solutions. As a reputable partner, we are therefore proud to support Fluvius in realising its ambition to make the electricity network ready for the future.
Together we go for stronger grids

Together with Fluvius we join hands for a term of at least five years, thus responding to the growing energy needs of society. Together, we will gradually develop and implement the necessary processes, systems and structures. To minimise disruption, the work will be gradually scaled up. With about 80 employees, we will strengthen some 225 km of electricity grids in an initial phase. Once at cruising speed, we will be able to count on at least 160 of our own staff and double the number of kilometres. Nevertheless, we are still structurally looking for technical staff, whom we train to be called in to the project.

Win-win

The knowledge, skill and experience our employees have in similar projects confirms their ability to deliver challenging projects qualitatively, safely and with minimum disruption. Joining forces with Fluvius on the one hand contributes to achieving the energy transition targets set by Fluvius. On the other hand, Fluvius helps APK Group achieve its growth targets and realise its vision of creating smart and sustainable cities. This with a focus on creating digital, modular and sustainable cities, which makes this project a nice win-win.

A strong team

Also according to Maarten Broens, CEO of APK Group, the solutions are in the area of climate and digitisation In infrastructure upgrades. "That infrastructural modernisation is just what APK Group stands for. We are therefore proud that we always manage to attract the right people and be able to keep them on board. We are able to achieve this retention by constantly focusing on the growth and development of our employees through training and education."

Bert Wouters, COO of the Water and Energy Department, adds: "Moreover, our proven track record and strong synergy between APK Group's internal departments gives us an edge. We therefore hope to become the reference contractor for such projects in the future."
